Song of the day: Deee-Lite – Groove Is In The Heart

For the fans of the 90s: one of the songs that inevitably causes me to start moving (the initial move obviously being turning up the volume). The New York based band Deee-Lite released a couple of albums in the first half of the 90s, but will mainly be remembered as a one hit wonder, because of this gorgeous Groove Is In The Heart. Ah, well, better a one hit wonder than a no hit disaster.

Song of the day: Touch and Go – Would you…?

Although they have released a number of songs and the Wikipedia page on the band mentions “A new album should come out in 2014” (which is highly unlikely to be true as this blogpost is written in the closing days of 2014) this English band called Touch and Go definitely fits to my idea of a one hit wonder. But that obviously doesn’t mean it’s not a nice song to hear every now and then.

Don’t pay too much attention to the video clip, though. I guess it was made in an afternoon or so, simply using whatever was available in the house (which would explain the flatiron and the vacuum cleaner) and then messing around a bit with the color settings. The song was originally released in 1998.
